'''Nitta Koheiji''' (died 1585) was a [[Japan]]ese ''[[Ninja|shinobi]]'' who served under [[Nowaki]], the personal ambusher of the [[Japanese Rite of the Templar Order|Japanese Templar]] [[Kimura Yukari]], in [[Awaji]] during the late [[Sengoku period]].

==Biography==
A vicious individual with a phobia of [[Chicken|poultry]], Nitta Koheiji was a ''shinobi'' who served under Nowaki, one of Kimura Yukari's three ''[[wikt:大将|taishō]]'' (大将, lit. "general").<ref name="All That We Leave Behind">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]'' – [[All That We Leave Behind]]</ref> In 1585, following Yukari's downfall at [[Iwaya Castle]],<ref name="The Final Assault">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]'' – [[The Final Assault]]</ref> Koheiji and his fellow ''shinobi'' [[Inoue Yonekichi]] and [[Ishida Shota]] stationed themselves at a rundown residence on the [[Trail of Eshima]]. From his own investigation, he noted [[Suganuma Tenma|two]] [[Chiba Hachibei|fellow]] ''shinobi'' near [[Kannoji Temple]], planned to kill one of [[Yasuhira]]'s [[Ryuzoji Den|spies]] at [[Kamaguchi Village]], and aimed to leave Awaji.<ref name="All That We Leave Behind"/>

However, the trio were discovered by the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member and [[Igan]] ''kunoichi'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]], who was helping [[Hattori Hanzō]]'s ally [[Konatsu]] in eliminating the last ''[[Sanzoku Ippa]]'' operatives. Naoe then promptly assassinated Koheiji, along with Shota and Yonekichi, and then acquired his note and the spare ''[[Bō|bō]]'' [[The Knocker]] from his personal effects.<ref name="All That We Leave Behind"/>
