'''Kobayakawa Heitaro''' (died 1585) was a [[Japan]]ese spy who served under [[Yasuhira]], the spymaster of the [[Japanese Rite of the Templar Order|Japanese Templar]] [[Kimura Yukari]], in [[Awaji]] during the late [[Sengoku period]].

==Biography==
A lover of poetry, Heitaro came to serve as a spy for Yasuhira, one of Kimura Yukari's three ''[[wikt:大将|taishō]]'' (大将, lit. "general").<ref name="All That We Leave Behind">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]'' – [[All That We Leave Behind]]</ref> In 1585, after the death of Yukari,<ref name="The Final Assault">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]'' – [[The Final Assault]]</ref> Heitaro grew paranoid of a possible traitor in their ranks and wrote down a note about [[So Sachihiko]] being the culprit and the remaining captains of [[Imagawa Tomeji]] being stationed at [[Yura Castle]].<ref name="All That We Leave Behind"/>

After the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] agreed to help [[Hattori Hanzō]]'s ally [[Konatsu]] eliminate the remaining ''[[Sanzoku Ippa]]'' members, they investigated the [[Sumoto Hachiman Shrine]]. There, they found Heitaro and assassinated him, before recovering his note and the [[Deathseeker Armor]] from his personal effects.<ref name="All That We Leave Behind"/>
