Wooden Shield

The Wooden Shield was a crude shield crafted from wood typical to Egypt during the Ptolemaic dynasty.

As a measure to reinforce the shield, it was padded with two layers of coarse fabric. This had the effect of softening blows against the shield. Unlike usual shields from this period, the Wooden Shield was roughly rectangular in design, with the top and bottom sides curved inward and the left and right sides curved outward. The shield was commonly found by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa in the inventories of blacksmiths, as well as on the bodies and in the chests during his travels.[1]
