Penny Arcade Comic[edit source]

Al, you have the Penny arcade comic? -- D. Cello 16:46, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yes I do, but you can also find it online in the link I put in the references -- Altaïr 18:51, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Only two pages x.x -- D. Cello 17:04, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, that sucks. Well I could scan the pages if you want to lol -- Altaïr 19:04, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

I was gonna ask you that XD Yes, please =] -- D. Cello 17:12, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Here, I added it to my Altaïr fanpage on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=187287&id=66898181374&saved#!/pages/Altair/66898181374 -- Altaïr 19:37, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Al! XD
That whole "He see his face on yours" thing... you think it implies Al Mualim is Altaïr's father? oO -- D. Cello 17:47, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

You never know... He did raise him... -- Altaïr 19:52, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Just a note here; there is a much higher quality version on the penny arcade site if you're interested. :)

OT: Dragonball[edit source]

So you like Gohan, eh? I'm more of a Goku fan, but I practically like any Saiyan and main villain. The reason I like Ezio better is because of his cape and added weapons. As a person, I like Ezio still because he doesn't seem to have as much arrogance as Altair did in the beginning of the first game. I'm actually playing the first game now, and I still have to assassinate Jubair Al-Hakim. {{SUBST:User:SaiyanZ/sig2}} 01:35, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

I was more of a Goku fan in the beginning, but when Gohan turned Super Saiyan two I was sold on him. And I started to really like him when he became a teenager, though not when he was acting goofy like in the Saiyaman saga. Well in case of Ezio and Altaïr, I really don't dig the cape, seriously! I almost hate it! I just think it ruins the outfit. As for personality. I agree, Altaïr was arrogant, but he learned great wisdom and hummility by becoming demoted. Ezio in all these years barely changes until he learns the truth. - Altaïr January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Paranoid, Hippy parents[edit source]

It still sounds subjective, from Desmond's point of view. It is not mentioned in game, and strategy guides are not canonical. They are written by an outside source. AgentValentine 14:14, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

I asked D.Cello considered the strategy guide to be canon. He said yes when we were talking about Maria's profile in it. He said they were approved by Ubisoft and considered canon.Altaïr

I disagree, but if DC says so, fine. But it needs to be rephrased, because it is still objective. Try "tired of his parents traditionalist Assassin views." Just because a 16 year old kid thinks his parents are paranoid hippies doesn't mean they are. AgentValentine 14:22, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I don't want to get into an arguement, so I'll change it into something that fits the profile, but still based on what the strategy guide states - Altaïr

That sounds better. :) If you don't mind, I'd like to fix the sentence structure a little bit. AgentValentine 14:46, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Sure... Be my guest. Altaïr

Proposed attribution policy[edit source]

Hello there Altaïr/Archive2, I recently took the time to create a Watercooler forum post detailing my proposed attribution policy, which I hope the wiki will be willing to adopt by this time next week. If you could be so kind as to look over the policy and cast your vote (or comment on any changes) you can do so by following this link; Forum:Sourcing articles. Also, would you kindly pass on this post too as many users as possible, so that the vote might represent the true number of contributors to the wiki. Thank you. Couple of questions[edit source]

Ok, so I beat the first Assassin's Creed and I was wondering if you can clear some stuff up for me:

1) How do I assassinate Robert de Sable at Arsuf in the same manner as it is shown in his picture on this article?

2) How do we know Altair became the Grand Master of the Assassins (if it is cleared up in Assassin's Creed II, try to explain without spoilers)?

3) Is there anything to do after the credits beside revisiting the Animus and looking at the symbols?

{{SUBST:User:SaiyanZ/sig2}} 22:20, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

1) I'm not sure where the problem is. You mean you want to stab him? Doesn't that happen automatically when you win the fight?

2) Well it is revealed, but I'm not even sure if that was in bloodlines or ACII, but there can be no doubt about it.

3) No there's nothing else to do, I think you can enter another room, with a different computer, where you might read more concerning the pieces of eden and their location. Other than that there's nothing left to do I think Altaïr February 25, 2010 (UTC))

  • In the picture it shows Altair stabbing him in a much different fashion then when you stab other assassination targets in the back. Do you have any idea on how to do this? {{SUBST:User:SaiyanZ/sig2}} 02:07, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Myeah I'm sorry but I don't think I can help you with that. Maybe it depends of where you stand or I think it's possible because he is only fighting with his hidden blade. I'm not sure if that is possible, though I am sure you can fight with the hidden blade in the second one. Cause if you fight only with your sword, then it automatically switches like to a video where he gets stabbed with the hidden blade anyway, so maybe that doesn't happen when you just use the hidden blade, though I can't remember if that is possible. From what I remember if you tried it, when an enemy saw you they would always block your arms and prevent you from stabbing him.Altaïr February 26, 2010 (UTC))

Hi, I'm the author of that awesome kill. XD It was performed doing a counter-attack with the hidden blade. My friend took the screen. Pretty cool, huh?? ;D
And sign your posts. -- D. Cello 02:14, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Ok thank you D. Cello. My signature gets all f**ked up if I sign anywhere else besides the Dragon Ball wiki. {{SUBST:User:SaiyanZ/sig2}} 02:40, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

To help with[edit source]

Hey Cedric since you'rre the main person to correct what I write in the Maria Thorpe page, do you think it's a good idea for me to leave it alone? PassiveNeoluna 00:35, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. I mean, if I say so myself, we make a good team. You're a very dedicated writer here on this Wikia and you're very good. I'm from time to time just correcting spelling mistakes, but my grammar isn't fantastic, which you are far better in. So that's something I would surely like to have you on board with for. -- Altaïr March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Okay then I'll keep doing whatever I'm doing. I try to be accurate with content, though I'm mainly a grammar editor. By the way, do you know which is the proper tense used for Wikia? Past or present? PassiveNeoluna 01:19, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Past imo. I mean we're talking about historical figures or fictional figures from the past. However I'm not sure if we should do the same for the present, which is actually the future. (2012) When we write about Desmond and such, should we write in present? Let's leave it past for now I think. -- Altaïr March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Okay thanks for clarifying. PassiveNeoluna 01:32, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

2012 is the present. All rest is past. -- D. Cello 23:13, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

So an article like Desmond's, should it be written in present tense? Cause after all we are telling a story that already happened in the games. So it's like it already happened. It depends on the context I guess. If you're talking about the content of the games I would keep it in past tense, but to talk about his personality and such, then we could place it in present tense, just to make it clear that 2012 is the present, as you said. -- Altaïr March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Al, I've got an idea. Talk to Master Sima and ask if you can work together on a wiki policy about the proper tense for the wiki, similar to the sourcing policy Jasca proposed a few weeks ago. I remember he corrected a lot of those grammar things moths back, maybe he's up to help it. Say I gave you green light to do it, with no deadline. Just get to it if and when you can and make one, alright? -- D. Cello 00:47, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thank you. I left him a message about it on his 'talk' page. -- Altaïr 2:14 March 11, 2010 (UTC)

It's odd when I talk, I happen to bring up an editing issue involving you, your fiance and D Cello *sigh*. I'll help with re-revising the pages if a proper policy takes place. PassiveNeoluna 06:05, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

If you want to help with the policy and Al and Sima are okay with it, be my guest. =] -- D. Cello 18:25, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Past or Present Tense[edit source]

Ah, you're Belgian. Do you speak Dutch then? Or just French? 'Cause I'm Dutch and I guess it'd be a lot easier to speak Dutch when communicating then. :P

And yes, I totally agree with you. I have been trying to 'update' pages to past format, though it's quite some work if you have to do it alone (though lately I haven't been that active here because of other things). I'd love to help you with putting the pages in the past tense. If there is something else I can help you with, just ask. -- Master Sima Yi 07:52, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

I'm Belgian, from the Flemish side. So yes, I speak Dutch. But I think we should continue in English lol. Otherwise it wouldn't really be fair to other members lol. But thanks for you input. If I see any pages that are still written in present tense then I'll try to update it myself. -- Altaïr 13:25, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Well, actually talking in English isn't fair to us either, actually. 'Cause now we have to talk in a foreign language, which is hardER than speaking in our original language :P. Though I get what you mean. -- Master Sima Yi 14:04, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Other than language standards, is there a definite agreement on the policy? PassiveNeoluna 04:25, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

No, actually, there is *no* policy whatsoever. x.x -- D. Cello 04:51, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't mean we can't create one. Only I'm pretty inexperienced with this. It seems Master Sima Yi seems to be quite occupied to make one as the other he created... I don't know. But maybe I could make this policy if I base it on the one he did create. Where could I find it? -- Altaïr 12:20, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

There's no hurry to do the policy. Just think about and when you guys think it's good, post it. Since it's a policy, it will become wiki guidelines, so it's kind of important. Must be well written and formed too. -- D. Cello 15:40, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Istruttorium[edit source]

Hey, Al. I'm scaling you up to Istruttore, if okay with you. We gonna need another admin soon, and who knows, you might be it. -- D. Cello 04:24, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah that's fine with me... If it just isn't an april fool's joke lol. -- Altaïr 20:49, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Damn, I totally forgot about April 1st x.x

See, Al? I told you it wasn't April's Fools prank XD
Since you're very active, maybe you wanna give a hand at the [The Blood of a Templar|Blood of a Templar] project?
And man, the wiki's getting pretty inactive x.x Lot of main members are going into wikibreak. -- D. Cello 16:32, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • Okay, I'll take a look at it. -- Altaïr 18:52, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Istruttori Guild[edit source]

Welcome to the Istruttori.
You now have the honor to use a Istruttore Badge on your profile, just insert {{ist}} on top of the page.
Information about your duties and a list of fellow companions of the team can be acessed at the Istruttori project page. As a Istruttore, you also have acess to the rollback function, which allows you to revert vandalisms or bad-faith edits with one click, on a quickier and pratical way. Safety and peace. -- D. Cello 18:52, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • It would be a real pity to remove that badge, D. Cello... Just sayin' with being april the 1st lol. Anyway thx for the promotion. I'll see to it that I can make myself useful for the Istruttore. -- Altaïr 21:12, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

No, no. I already added you to the istruttori listings and staff panel. I'm sure wouldn't go through all that trouble just to change it tomorrow... or would I? ._.
Anyway, you can add {{UserIst}} to the infoboxes if you want, too. -- D. Cello 19:19, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, Al. Think you can meet me at the IRC Channel in about 10 minutes? -- D. Cello 14:34, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm there -- Altaïr 17:58, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Hey. I changed the settings and now the IRC bips when someone lefts me a message, so no more 30 minutes delay between messages. =P
I am already implemeting things, when you're avaiable to talk log in and I'll fill you in. -- D. Cello 17:51, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Guys, User:The Theif is your newest fellow Istruttore. Give him a warm welcome!(and pranks, hit on his sister, kick his dog and all that) ;D -- D. Cello 15:13, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

How you Relate to the AC Characters[edit source]

If find it quite surprising how you bear many similarites with the AC2 character Ezio Auditore da Firenze. And from a 30-year old, I didn't know you had so much time for gaming, despite the fact that adults have to deal with alot of work nowadays. Reason? FPS Headhunter LASER GUNS BEW BEW!!!! :D 20:35, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

  • Simple I don't work... I just enjoy life as it is... There is another reason, but that one I'd like to keep private Altaïr 22:40, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

AC3

Where is it going to be set and when is it coming out?DORANBROS123 18:16, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

  • There are no actual facts where it is set and when, but there's a lot of speculation. You can read more about it in the Assassin's Creed III article. Altaïr 20:32, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

My DeviantArt Link[edit source]

Here it is Cedric, [1] and congrats on the promotion :) --PassiveNeoluna 04:40, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • Ah so you know about that. Not sure I deserve it, but I am glad I can give an extra hand to the wiki.:) --Altaïr 06:55, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit source]

Cedric a disrespectful user vandalised my user page, could you roll it back to when I last edited it? PassiveNeoluna 00:32, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Nevermind I fixed it myself, but the user should locked for awhile. PassiveNeoluna 00:37, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Well I fixed one earlier, who replaced a line with 'I DON'T CARE!' on your page. I don't know what else had been done. Unfortunately unregistered users can't be banned that easily from the wikia --Altaïr 02:40, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Okay and thanks for fixing my page when you did. PassiveNeoluna 00:53, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Actually they can, and I did it. He shouldn't be a problem anymore, Neoluna.
Al, do you need help with banning and blocking users? Call me if you have any doubts. ;D -- D. Cello 01:08, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yeah some education how to ban unregistered users would be welcome in case there's more vandalism. I've already dealt with it a lot, but I've never been able to ban anyone, cause most of them commiting vandalism are unregistered users. --Altaïr 03:17, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
Sure.

Under the "Contributions" bar in a user page, you can find the following:

From the Assassin's Creed Wiki
For "USERorIPhere" (Talk | block | block log | logs | Deleted user contributions)

Clicking the block button, you are taked to a page with the user's name/IP, the duration you want to block (or ban) them, the reason why and other options. Even if someone isn't registered, you can do exactly the same for the same effect. -- D. Cello 01:25, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Okay thx, and how long do you usually ban someone for vandalism? Is it permanently, depending if they are registered or not? -- Altaïr 03:31, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
I don't follow a policy for it. Usually when it's an offensive or extensive vand, or when there's a removal of content, I block for a year. Only very minor things like title changes to non offensive words are blocked with 3 days or a week by me. But Silver has a different choice of lenght, I usually only enter the action when heavy action is needed.
So, yeah, choose how long you think it's worth. Vandals don't add anything to us anyway. -- D. Cello 04:59, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Al, remember: every time you revert a vandalism, you have to block the vandal. -- D. Cello 01:41, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you[edit source]

Thanks for correcting my mistakes and um if you do have time, could you check on my corrections in the Auditore Villa page, I tried to revamp it since it changed status. PassiveNeoluna 21:23, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • I checked it and the revamp was very good. I only found one spelling error. Except for that I didn't see any mistakes. Good job! - Altaïr 23:45, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

Okay so should I leave a message for D.Cello to reconsider the status change? PassiveNeoluna 21:55, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah I would ask it first. Imo it can be changed, however I don't think I have the final word in this. - Altaïr 00:05, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

I'll do so, excluding the Istruttori votes, do I ask for the approval of a bureaucrat if I think an article needs to change status all the time? --PassiveNeoluna 22:17, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Well D.Cello is the only Bureaucrat. So it is safe to ask him first yes. Btw if you have the time. Could you take a look at this article. It's still in the work, but if you could check the grammar on it, I would appreciate it: Rise and Fall of Altaïr - Altaïr 00:21, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the edit of the Article. Looks much better! - Altaïr 01:47, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Just dropped in to say thanks for changing the pic, btw do you mind that I call you by your real name or I should stick to your username? PassiveNeoluna 18:41, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, I would prefer it if you called me by my actual name... I only don't do it with you because I don't know yours. I should have asked it sooner... Maybe you could drop it? And yeah I replaced your picture quickly. It was my mistake to assume that you would like Maria as your picture. I just thought so because of what I I saw in your gallery on deviantart Altaïr 21:54, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

My name has been in my userpage for a while now, it's Anna. And no need to apologize, it's not that I don't like Maria as my staff pic, (it's actually flattering you picked her since she's one of my very favorite characters) it's just that I think my staff pic should be more associated with my personality, and Claudia is closest to how I am at times. :) PassiveNeoluna 20:18, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thank you, for your help, I've never joined a wiki, and am still having problems with my signature it's cause of my pc settings, and is the (UTC) thing standard for all posts Emorales 23:08, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Lol I'm an admin, and I don't even know what that stands for, but I do know that you have to add it to your signature. It's just a small detail. Anyway have fun on the wiki! -- Altaïr 01:13, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
