I think Ubisoft maybe it pretty obvious with the locations of the temples marked on the map. I believe that Desmond will obtain a copy of that map from his memories, where the assassins will pin-point the exact/and or general locations of those temples. These could be vital in defeating the templars in some way or another. As far as going in the animus, i dont think they'll be using it much if it all, due to Desmond's bleeding effect (meaning he would access any ancestors information without being in the animus). Long and exciting story short (atleast how i think it will go), Desmond does cool things to destroy the Templar's mind control satellite, world is saved, Desmond becomes Assassin hero. The End.
