And the feudal japan is a rumor. It's been around as the "location ubsoft wanted for AC2" by th time AC1 was released. It all started as a fan theory based on a writing at the end of AC1, where one of the words read "nagimata" or anything like it, which is a mythical island near the coast of Japan similar to out Atlantis.
