As stated in a press release: "There's gonna be a new Assassin's Creed episode, what means it's another game, but isn't the new instalment of the series, (read it: not AC3). It will feature Ezio, and a multiplayer mode. Further info not avaiable at this time."

My oppinion, now: Historical settings are cool, just keep intercalating Desmond with a new character (who is somehow very connected to Ezio and Altaïr like Ezio is in the second game) and give us a new unexplored reasonable setting, not civil war or feudal japan, nor middle-age arthur time. Maybe Industrial Revolution, a steampunked assassin arsenal. =P
