That woman in the picture...perhaps she's an older Aveline??? An escaped slave living with the Natives??? Some of them were taken in when they ran away while some were returned by the Natives for a reward. Those who were taken in adopted the culture, mixing it with their own sometimes, and even intermarried.

High cheek bones are based on genetics not ethnicity. There are plenty of African nations where high cheek bones are common. I have high cheek bones (but I'm part Native) but don't pay attention to that! lol Somalians, Ethiopians--they have strong bone structures in their face. Heck, anyone with a certain skeletal structure could have high cheek bones, no matter the race. Anyway, costumes, yes? They're cool! ^^
