Connor won't take part in the French Revolution because why should he concern himself with the affairs of France, especially when you consider his efforts to ask Aveline to get Patience Gibbs to become a member of the Assassin Order.

This shows that he's focusing on expanding the Assassin presence in North America, so to tear him away from that all because of a quote by Lafayette seems a little nonsensical.
