Patrice never said they wouldn't go with World War II in AC3; that was Corey May. However, one of the other main fellows said some time later that WW2 is a possiblity yet again.

Though, if they are going to explore WW2 in the next game, there would've been no point for them to include it in the Glyphs. They put it in there for a reason.
