I found the fighting thing weird too. I choose the Assassins because they helped stop WW II, and a number of other "dictators and tyrants". I can easily see a world that the Templars want, but it is a very blank world. Assassins want a world that will evolve through it's own problems, which is very dangerous. I do not agree with everything they do, however they are, in a way, keeping the world free.
