-Weapons are: Hidden Blades,snares, trip mines, poison darts, bait (sorta), pistol, bow and arrow, fists, tomahawk/dagger, swords and I probably forgot something else.

-Combat: See here

-Naval missions: 

If a ship attacks you, be sure to hit the Square button immediately when you see the cannons firing. Too early or too late, youre fucked.

-Hunting:

You see clue (symbol is a magnifying glass). 

Interact.

Red dot in screen showing where certain animal is.

Go to animal.

Kill animal.

Skin animal.

At times it will give you a quick time event.

-Tips: *cracks fingers*

If you press the Circle button twice while a guard is being highlighted you will dodge him.

DO THE HOMESTEAD MISSIONS!!!

You can kill citizens by highlighting them (LT on the Xbox).

Be careful when reading database entries for Connor's mom and Washington. CONTAINS SPOILERS.

Fist 'kills' do not count as actual kills. Helpful in optional objectives.

There is an island in the frontier where there is huge ton of bears. It's somewhere in the North East close to the homestead. There's also one in Eastern Packanack.

If you press R1 with X (in PS3) Connor will vault on obstacles.

If your convoy is attacked. You can send your Assassin recruits to defend them.

With animals that require you to do 2 QTEs (e.g Elks) after you do the first QTE, quickly spam the kill button on the animal.

tl;dr Ubisoft did a bad job at explaining stuff but it's still an amazing game.
