He is young and ignorant. With age comes wisdom, and at the end of the game he is only 27; Altaïr was 26 at the end of AC and when Ezio was 27 he was dealing with the Barbarigos in Venice. None of them were particularly wise and smart at that point. I don't think it's fair to compare him to an old Ezio. The revolutionaries were a manipulative bunch; aside from Washington and Lafayette, that is. I don't really blame him for any of these things.
