No direct source in the ASSASSIN'S CREED universe that says explicitly that he's a god, only that he definitely had the Shroud, and John the Baptist had a staff. You all do have to realize this is technically an alternate universe, so whatever you believe can be for our universe, Ubisoft will do as they wish for their's
