I distinctly remember them saying something along the lines of Creed points being used to upgrade your character's skills, and in the end they just became a commodity to use to give a piece of customizable equipment a stat inprovement (of which I hate the fact that the damage bars etc. have no integers in order for us to make equipment set pages). Instead, you need to do co-op for the extra sync points to fully upgrade your character.
