Well I was referring to the more popular Lord of the Rings games (the other half, as you have put it), but I didn't know I had to point out everything. I'm well aware of the movie tie-in games, the MMORPG that hasn't survived the giant World of Warcraft executioner's axe, the Lego games, that pinball game, Aragorn's Quest etc. etc. etc.
While it is quite popular among the heavily devout fans who've made altars to Sauron with a Lego recreation of Barad-dur, none of them have actually made significant impact, or establish appeal to anyone other than those who are already fans. There are very, very few Lord of the Rings games that people will bring up the moment you mention Lord of the Rings. The RTS games are among those few. (Yet, again, very few can point out the exact name of the LotR RTS game they are referring to)
