I'm not even talking about Templar agents or anything, i'm talking about vengeance. It is said that Cesare Borgia was a father to, AT LEAST, 11 illegimate child. I don't know about Rodrigo, but it could be the same case. Now, let's say Cesare had a son in 1500. Ezio killed Cesare in 1507. In 1524, the boy would have been 24.The guy in AC Embers looked in his twenties. And i'm not even saying that he has to be Cesare's or Rodrigo's, he could be a cousin I don't know. But if someone hunted down my family for almost 30 years, i'm just saying, it's a very plausible option
