I don't know if i didn't see the comment about this but in addition to this comment: "Ezio was KILLED, he did not die of natural causes.

1) If the young man was insignificant, why would they spend so much time on him, including a strong grip on his wrist, and a lingering, knowing amount of eye contact? 2) If the young man was supposed to be a version of his younger self, why wouldn't he look like Ezio? Why the mystery? And most importantly why would he be a douche? Ezio does not look at him with loving understanding (see point 5 below). 3) The young guy's phrase "have courage" seems to mirror how each assassin seems to have their own catch phrase when they kill someone...Requiescat en pace for Ezio, May you walk in peace or something like that which you hear from one of the assassin's in a master assassin mission in the game. 4) Dude has a templar cross on his wrist! See other posts for pictures 5) Ezio's look on his face is a mix of shock and anger at the guy. After that he seems to resign himself and just look at his family. 6) Why would they bother to kill an old man who's dying soon anyway? They probably got wind that he was HELPING ASSASSINS (the Chinese assassin) and so it would make sense that they'd want to put an end to his meddling. Maybe they've known his location for a while but didn't want to risk an attack or retribution since he was retired, or maybe they just found out about him due to the latest rumbles in the city and his house but either way he was involved in Assassin stuff and so he had to go."

in addition to point 6): in the scene when the asian assassin (was too lazy to look up the name) leaves to china there are to horsemen (one with a flag) coming towards ezio as if they had official business with ezio maybe about the attack on the villa. maybe that way the templars learned about the asian assassin and really decided to have ezio killed. these horsemen are definitely there for a reason that isn't fully clear to me. so this would be another argument for the templars-wanted-ezio-dead-theory...

ps: i really think that we will see the asian assassin again...
