The lock-on was actually very useful for me... whenever I wanted to aim and throw several throwing knives, shoot a bullet from the hidden gun, use the crossbow, etc... So in terms of long ranged combat or long ranged assassinations... this could pose a problem unless of course they make it so that... once the bow and arrow is taken out... you will get an aimor similar to FPS games and you can just highlight it over enemies and release the arrow from the bow to kill the guard... I just hope this won't make Connor go into first person... Aside from the platform simulation challenges from AC:R.... there isn't supposed to be first person view in Assassin's Creed. Connor might be able to mount canons and use them but probably only for special occasions... such as AC:B where Ezio only got to use canons in the beginning of the game during the Seige of Monterrigoni... could be something like that...
