Alright, so, I took some more digging in. I realize that Templars didn't explicitly support just Locke, but every philosopher from the Enlightenment; Locke was just one of many, and he was coincidentally a liberal. This didn't make the Templars supporters of the liberal philosophy during the Enlightenment, though there are liberal Templars.
What does make Washington and the revolutionaries related to the Assassins though, are the Freemasons. I assume that the Freemasons are heavily tied to the Assassins, and the Illuminati are Templars. The Freemasons' logo just screams Assassin too. Well, I'm satisfied. I need to stop thinking in the wrong directions for once...
