There is a lot of critisizm regarding CoD but Halo Reach has very little critisizm. Where I come from only a loser would choose to play CoD if he had to choose between it and Halo Reach (trust me there are no losers where I come from). I have friends in the gaming industry(as in they are gaming experts) and they stated that the previous CoD didn't get too much attention from the serious who do nothing but play games. Almost every time I play Halo Reach hundreds of players are online every time of course those are people I added or joined in a scenario I had made. There are thousands more playing Halo online each day(jobless people). This is not intended to say that CoD sux, personally I like Halo and CoD equally but if I had to choose I would choose Halo in a landslide. I was so psyched when CoD Black Ops was released but my friends told me it was a bummer in terms of story. I played it and found it pretty awesome but majority didn't find the story good. MW3 got pretty good reception(very good reviews) but it gets boring after a while however no one gets tired of Halo Reach since their are so many things to do.

Now for the grand finale. Both Halo and CoD got EPIC reviews but it is hard to say which is more popular. Depends on preference rather than gameplay.
