And yes, Desmond's Journey was initially third person. In the final product they changed that, probably because of time/budget conflicts. You have to keep in mind that short development times don't always allow all planned concepts to reach their full potential.

I hope Connor won't get more than one game, and if they stick to their statements that AC3 will wrap up Desmond's story then I'm quite sure that he won't. Each game should be unique in my opinion, Brotherhood built too much on what had been established in AC2.

And yes, Darim wasn't Desmond's ancestors, it was Sef (shown in the Abstergo Files in Revelations, not the Encyclopedia). Sef had no known ancestors. Maybe they hired a babysitter for Darim so they could get kinky in Acre...
