Thankyou :-D....... Not the developers as such, I just knew a couple of the researchers and the historians as I've worked with them before so they just emailed or called me with questions...... The hidden blade is real but was only used in certain conditions by the best assassins..... Sometimes when a VIP would visit a town/village all access to that area would be policed by guards and weapon amnesties. The assassin would walk through, hand in all their 'decoy weapons' and walk straight through armed with just the hidden blade..... They didn't work quite like they do in the game. For instance, if you pull the pin, the blade shoots out but you have to push it back in with the other hand and put the pin back but more often than not, the broke off by the end of a fight....... The retaking of Masyaf is not alot different to how it is in the game (minus the brainwashing) and there was a big fight between the Persian Asasyn and the Syrian Asasyn and in the end the Persians disbanded as they wanted nothing further to do with them..... Of course, later on the Mongols wiped out the Syrian Asasyn and then the Persians came back to take Alamut back from them. They only wanted it long enough to seal up all the secret tunnels and then just left again, for good....... And they split up and went all over the middle east and even further afield over the years....... And you do need to be born an Asasyn, there's hundreds of thousands of full-blood Asasyn out there so really no need to 'hire' more....... By the way, Altair is said to be a Syrian Assassin, however, his clothes suggest he's Persian (Persians wore hoods and Syrians wore the shoals like what informers wear, and Persians rarely wore sleeves either where Syrians did)........ Sorry if this is a bit long-winded......EchoAltair 17:42, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
