I have the same problem, I just haven't the foggiest idea what I'm supposed to do. The story seems convoluted and backwards (I have to admit I just played AC 1).

I can't get a grasp on 'the overworld' where you wake up in a sterile medical room. What's the purpose?

Is part 2 better? Does it offer more freedom or is it a linear game? Is it better at explaining what's going on?
