I'm not, as you put it 'being quick to think the worst', I'm simply going by what we know. Historically, Machiavelli admired Cesare, and the Assassins Creed series is prided on historical accuracy. Besides, I was just proposing an awesome theory of betrayal based on what we know of a videogame and it's series, it's not like I think the real Machiavelli was a bad guy or anything.
