The French Revolution was not only notable for France's history, but for the whole European history. Moreover, Paris would make a fantastic setting, a huge lot of histoically important characters, writers, philosophers... and murder, cruelty, oppression and assassinations. So everything a good AC game needs. And no, I was already hoping for the French Revolution before AC:B ;)
