To first reply;

Aye I know, I meant in terms of the factions Ubisoft created... They were indeed known as the Knights Templar... they full name however was The Order of the Knights of the Temple of Soloman as stated in my original post :)

I read a lot of Historical FIction and like to read the Author's notes at the end where they talk more about the real history... If by any chance you do read, I suggest the Brethren Trilogy (Brethren, Crusade and Requiem) by Robyn Young, her characters go through the down fall of the Order and she discusses the correct history in her notes.

@Second Rply, aye very true... they could have gone further than they did... Fortunatly for those countries West of Russia and Hungary a Kahn (Ogedai I believe) died and forced Tsubodai to return to Mongolia at the point he could have steamed rolled his way to the Channel
