Neither Assassins or Templars are communists. The Assassins supported Lenin and the Bolsheviks because they sought to replace the autocratic tsardom with a populist government, but they didn't necessarily support the communists' ideals. The Templars basically manipulated communistic leaders such as Stalin and Mao to further their own gain, but as you can see in letters written to Abstergo employees, they rallied the employees to oppose communism, so they basically manipulated everyone. The Templars invented capitalism, but they are not capitalists; they use whatever is necessary to create the New World Order. The Assassin-Templar conflict isn't a left-right thing, nor a communist-capitalist thing, it can't be separated into any groups.
