but in AC1 Altair called Al mualim for master all the time, so did Abbas, Rauf, Malik and Robert De Sable and the word mentor was never used in AC1. so I think that Al mualim was the grand master of the assassins also because all of the other assassins who where leaders of the assassin guilt in Jerusalem, Damascus and Acre all reported to their master in the HQ in Masyaf. and Malik: "we cannot act without our masters permission" that means that Al mualim was the grand master of the assassins. but Altair abolished it when he came to power and used mentor and Assassin leaders instead of grand master.
