Communism is a sociopolitical ideology whereby all means of production are owned "by the people" and for the benefit of all, meaning that there is no private ownership of industry, and the nation's resources are evenly distributed to ensure equality. Capitalism is pretty much the opposite, as it involves a free market with means of production owned by individuals or groups, mostly for their own gain, and people have to buy all their goods and services from these individuals/groups.
