ACTC = Assassin's Creed: The Chain. Also, I think Haytham was so ruthless in the end out of desperation as his allies had fallen one by one and in the end his conviction are what he stood for against the convictions of his son. Whether they are different or not, both Haytham and Connor believed they were on opposite sides and no quarter was given.
