Well, I always thought that maybe, he did expand his life with tha POE (meaning that he'd still be living in modern times, so he could come up as a friend who helps Desmond later or something), why he would I wouldnt know... (maybe a freak acciedent, since he was willing to embrace death)... and to be sure I'm NOT saying that we could play as him again, but maybe as a friend or companion in later games.
