While I would agree China has a long rich history, the same could be said about any nation anywhere. I'm a bit biased towards China nowadays as they claim to be the home of most inventions, which is complete and total bullshit. The repeating crossbow for instance is said to have been invented in 4th century bc. However half way across the world in Greece at Rhodes they had a working Ballista called a Polybolos which was pretty much an enlarged repeat crossbow in that it could fire at a faster rate then a normal Ballista. It has been compared to a modern day machine gun in fact for it's firing speed.
