No, relatability is. You can relate to a good villain, see their side of things even though it's wrong.

Al Mualim is scary because he could so easily be anyone. Someone corrupt with power, thinking they have the ability to unite the world...Borgia just wanted all the glamour for himself. A big, fat, greedy bastard. =p
