your not the only one there are plenty of comments on YT and also on various articles such as the kotaku one with people complaining about the announcment of dlc before release of the game.

i really do not understand why tbh, ubi is not screwing people over bringing out dlc for things that should have been in the main game release like some people make out, they are giving people more content, sometimes stuff that they could not fit into the game prior to release, sometimes brand new ideas they just wanted to add. DLC is somthing people expect in todays gaming world and if they did not announce dlc people would then be complaining and asking 'why no dlc for ac3?'

The alternate timeline is just a bit of fun from devs, some people like what if... Scenarios. It is like the addition of undead nightmare for RDR. its not there to be taken too seriously.
