It's about manipulating the course events of history, and the DLC is not part of mainstream continuity. Therefore, you have nothing to worry about, it's not canon. Also, I am not upset because they haven't revealed much. Ubisoft is good at keeping people in suspense while disclosing just enough information to keep us satisfied.
