Did... did you just say... "enough of history manipulation?" That's one of the major parts of the whole franchise. They aren't going to ditch history from the series, that would take away the essence of it. Plus, Desmond is too busy with saving the world to recruit Assassins, and if he climbs anything he would be immediately spotted and chased after. And Desmond is barely an Assassin himself, I don't see him training anyone else.
