I don't think anyone I know took the first year of GCSEs or O/Ls that seriously. The A/L teachers in both my previous school and the current international school I go to complain that kids didn't take things seriously and since they entered A/Ls they have no choice but to get serious unlike the previous exam.

But for me both have the same godawful education system so I go against it.
