Depends on the gun. There are recorded accounts from the Revolution of the use of rifles to specifically target British officers. Daniel Morgan's Provisional Rifle Corps comes to mind. It's conceivable that Connor would use a rifle to kill a target from far off, but we're talking probably between 100 and 300 meters.
