Hmm I would say yes and if you notice from the gameplay elements such as when it switches from Altair and the Crusader in the Memory Corridor to Altair speaking with Al Mualim, where we see the the backdrop and building load snappier and from a darker background. The theme is definately darker and in my opinion this implies some foreboding about the "Revelations" to be revealed.
