Perfectly reasonable. Light is merely an electromagnetic wave - no different than radio waves or X-ray waves - that possess a wavelength and frequency our eyes can detect and respond to; many animals are capable of percieving a wider range of frequencies and wavelengths. Moreover, birds can detect Earth's geo-magnetic field, so Eagle vision is probably due to a change in DNA :)

BTW keep watcing documentaries. They are one of the best sources for self-education; I have learned so much about physics through documentaries on YouTube :D
