And 16 says "Find the Eve". Could be Lucy.

And if she's Erudito it fix too. I mean, if she e-mail Desmond saying "That Lucy isn't the real Lucy! I'm Lucy!" he will probably think "Whassa-fucka-you-Altair?". I don't think he will give the attenction and he will comment this will the Lucy. And the Lucy (From AC2, with pants =P) will say something to him believe in her.

About the red footsteps, it could be when she turn in her normal form (A woman from Abstergo, maybe a guy, i don't know =P) and stays that way. Lucy from AC1 is so... "cute" and calm. And Lucy from AC2 is so... angry, kickass and all. In 1, she seems not have angry from templars or Vidic. But in 2, my god, she kicks anyone and do mad face ò_Ó.

And she seems surprise when Desmond open the door in the begin of AC2. Perhaps she doesn't think he have Eagle Vision because he is in a illusion.

Abstergo has 16 subjects before Desmond. They probably have some Piece of Eden, right?
