See, Lucy maybe goes in the front alone because she will turn back in she can't stand all time in the form of Lucy, so she became the other person in that time. It looks idiot, but think about. Desmond stay in Abstergo for a week. Lucy stay for a long time. They will look for Lucy, not Desmond. Lucy took him away from Abstergo. In AC2 they have rooms, so it will be easy for her turn away. But in Brotherhood don't. So this explain why Lucy disappear sometimes and why they have red footsteps. And why 16 say that and Juno too.
