Agiles are easy to get away from, just jump when they come into camera view or are about to attack. When guards form a line, jump through the gaps between them. They may hit you, but you will carry on through the jump and won't fall backwards or stop. Note that this doesn't work in AC3 because, for some reason, you magically fly away whenever the Soldiers decide to stick their rifles out at you, even if you are meters away from them and it would be impossible to do so IRL.
