I keep stumbling upon this particular argument in most forums, concerning this topic: Ezio's technology/gadgets/gear/robes.... Ezio's robes first of all, were those Altair created and wore as a Grand Master of the Syrian wing of the Order (referred to as Altair's Grand Master robes). Ezio's technology/gear/gadgets on their majority were created/invented by Altair. He used the knowledge he gained from the Apple, but it was he, that constructed them. I also keep bumping on, Ezio's fistfight abilities, two hidden blades, etc. While still most of them are Altair's doing, ultimately related to the Codex he wrote, Altair with an amputated finger as a sign of the assassin's initiation at that time, yet with only one hidden blade, he defeated Al Mualim the Grand Master of the assassins. In addition, Altair gained the rank of Master Assassin at the age of 25 (by losing it to demotion and re-gaining it within one year, is interpreted only by mentioning his superiority), whilst Ezio at the age of 40. They are two characters that definitely should not be used to settle differences in arguments, in terms of whom we like the better. However, they should be observed as two different individuals, in two different environments, eras, statuses, gameplays, both sharing the same bloodline started by Altair. Serving the hypothesis created that has Ezio fight against Altair, that should be done only in the same gameplay environment and era, preserving the rest of their differences. On that ground, even in the two-non-similar gameplay one, Altair would single-handedly deliver the winning blow, due to the skills, the knowledge (before the acquiry of the Apple), the intellect, the clarity, the resolve, the authenticity of being an Assassin, the experience and the ability from the very first moment to see right through the words of his own Master, even the lies, he possesses. Finally if end-game characters should be examined as well, the victor would still be Altair, bearing in mind the creations, apart from the apparent skill that made Ezio who he is in the game. Victor still without his own creations, Altair would have seen through Ezio's movements long before he even managed to approach (the fact that Ezio would go unseen by Altair is rediculous and should not be examined). After all, he was trained in an era with very fewer possibilities and so many more limitations, but in that era that the very establishment of the Assassin's Order laid its foundations upon - It was he who changed everything to make the beggining of a long lasting line of the greatest assassins possible and done - It was Altair who laid the very foundations of the Order's most modern way of thinking and secured an almost thriving future for assassins to come, who managed to take the Creed, the Order and assassins of his era into an entirely different level, which only ultimately affects and is related to the one that Rennaisance or Modern Age assassins stand.
- Bear in mind that 3 years of gaming development and advancement is a pretty long time interval of transaction in game designing patterns and technology. In only almost 5 years, we passed on to the next level of the Unreal Engine mechanism and platform, which consists the base of older and very recent or in-development MMORPG's/MMOG's. What Ubisoft gave the players and fans of the AC series in the sequel is a better gameplay environment, a free one, with absolutely more potency for a blossoming enjoy and a better of an already launched to the top appeal of the game, as well as a piece of entertainment for players to thrive and not feast upon, in terms of some truly hilarious thread/topic/argument that wants two characters of the very same game rise a battle between them - only to satisfy ones' likeness of one of the characters, to rob ones' boring time who cannot patiently wait for a potential sequel of the series and to complete/feed ones' incomplete thinking over an impossible matter without an all-element examination over a duel thread that only draws the attention of more and more users, trolls and spammers who will do post anything to have their point of view "well-taken", driving all the initial intrigue and boring some users away, ending to nothing less than another closed thread due to inflation.**
Result: Altair Ibn-La'Ahad (victorious) vs Ezio Auditore da Firenze (defeated) --- Could also consider the difference in superiority in many terms between the all heard "Old-School" and "Modern".
