Altair is the best. Altair has had WAY more years of training than Ezio and Altair was raised in a better, concintrative way. He was THE master assassin and would destroy ezio. People are choosing Ezio because ACII is an updated game, better weapons, better armor and forward in time from Altair. But if you put them in a room with only robes and one sword each, Altair would kill Ezio on the first blow.

Altair was more.... concentrated on his work i would say than Ezio, but Ezio was raised in Florence there were lots of distractions and tolerence was lower than in Masyaf. Ezio is a great Assassin, but Altair is WAY better, in combat. (Ezio is better in style).
