1 Thing that people seem to have forgotten is that Altair invented all the gadgets,armour and blades by using the Piece of Eden. Therefore, it is not really him doing it. Furthermore, Ezio has the Piece of Eden and the Staff so he could probably accomplish much more than Altair.

On the other hand, Altair did fight Al Mualim without a Piece of Eden and beat him. And to disprove someone's above argument, Altair did not hire courtesans or mercenaries because he preferred to work alone.
