Darius is more legendary than Connor! He was the first to assassinate with a hidden blade which Altair said is like a symbol or synonym for the Assassins. Connor helped build up the Colonial Assassins but if I'm an Assassin in China why would I care as much. Where as some form of the hidden blade has been in every Assassin Brotherhood known!

I can understand this more than the Haytham thing though because not that much people know Darius.
