Three people (two, e.g, Ezio and Altair) could look the same and not be related. Well, we're all related, but it's very distant. Anywho, they all have different eye colors. Why would Desmond's mind project three different physical characteristics if he was projecting what he imagined they looked like? Wouldn't they both look exactly like him if it were up to him? Perhaps that is why they changed Altair's appearance in Revelations, so that people would not be confused about Ezio and Altair not being related. Plus, they both could come from one of Adam's children, eventually branch out as families tend to do, but still maintain some similar or exact phenotypes of genes. Y'know how people will say "You look like my aunt or uncle" and you've never seen them before and know for certain that you're not related? Exact same concept. However, I doubt out of millions of gene possibilities, they would all manage to have the same face with different eye colors. Sorry for getting technical. :-D
