Uhm... the series isn't being milked. Aside from a few people, I haven't heard that being said much. They wanted to wrap up Ezio's story and release Assassin's Creed III before the end of 2012, which they are going to succeed in. Revelations was originally called Lost Legacy, a game for the 3DS, but they turned it into a main console game and had various other production teams working on it. After Assassin's Creed III is released, they are no longer going to release the games annually. The only reason they are doing that is because the end of 2012 is drawing ever closer.
